I ordered a $9 portion, but it came with three small miserable prawns and tiny pieces of sotongs.I can taste a slight wok hei flavour, but it could be better with more ingredients.

Bought small hokkien Mee for $6.It is kind of over price but at least it is good. I like the think white noodle but it is wet! However the mee soaked up the broth rather quickly and it became just soggy. Not a great texture but still surprisingly tasty.Prawn was reasonably sized and easy to eat. Pork lard got soggy rather quickly so you might not wanna mix them. The best if it is probably the chili. At first I was thinking too little chili I should have asked for more. But this chili was really spicy nice kick to it.

If you are at Newton food Centre and yearning for fried Hokkien mee, this one is not to be missed. The wok hei is good, and cooked till the broth is soaked into the noodles to give it that satisfying flavour. Taste wise, it is quite on par with a few other more famous ones, and I would say it will not disappoint at all if you crave for a good plate of fried Hokkien noodle. The chilli though spicy is a perfect complement to the dish. I saw that the Newton Food Centre will be closed from 1 Nov 2022 to 31 Jan 2023. So if you hope to catch them, you know what to do.
