I’ve been coming to this Starbucks for many years but have decided not to return for fear of another bout of disappointment.In the past few weeks, I’ve noticed a significant drop in the beverage quality. I had ordered a latte but received what seemed to be a cappuccino, as the drink had more than 40% foam. This is entirely unacceptable - even though they have a new batch of baristas, this is a fundamental milk steaming technique, and a more senior staff should help in quality assurance.I thought I would give them another chance and returned 1-2 weeks later but there’s still a thick layer of foam on my latte. Further, the latte itself tastes entirely thin, when it should taste rich and silky thanks to proper milk steaming and good incorporation of microfoam.As for service, 75% of the time it’s the usual curt attitude of baristas who seem to resent their jobs, which I understand, as I don’t expect a legendary customer experience here. Moreover, direct customer service isn’t as important in Starbucks because we don’t really interact with baristas like they do in other countries. We are here to utilise the third space, which thankfully tends to be clean. However, it is hard to enjoy the third space when the beverages are several notches below acceptable. I hope the situation will improve over the next few months.
Starbucks is located at first floor in bedok mall. It's quite a big branch, many seats available but there are a lot of people who like to chill here so come early if you want to secure a seat. Food and service are standard Starbucks so nothing much to talk about there.
Had ordered two drinks and both were not made correctly. The first drink I ordered was a Venti but I received a Grande in a Venti cup. For the second drink, I ordered a Chai Tea Latte, but I received a Caffe Latte instead. Not sure how this could happen when there was no queue at that time, and the order was keyed correctly (Cashier even repeated my order). Only one customer was behind me, and they even received their drink first. Quite disappointing.
