What can I say the 3 flavoured cakes we bought, burnt cheesecake, pistachio and earl grey did not disappoint. It still retain the softness and moisture. Each bite is a melt in your mouth moment and dancing with the stars. Initially we suppose to have it for the drone show, now we have it for breakfast. It still as good as the day before.
Came here for lunch, ordered the grilled cheese n bacon jam, and burnt brussels sprouts. While flavour is not bad but they are very oily. Not well executed. I'm surprised nobody commented on this in the past reviews. Can't enjoy nor finish the meal unfortunately.
Place has a nice ambience and was quite empty when I visited on a weekday night. Food was however below average with a price tag on the high side… I prefer the traditional biang biang noodles over this version (probably half the price too) and the other dishes were just okay. Service was quite nice though, with refills of free water when we ran out!
Nice cafe with a high price point with a chill ambience, not overfilled although it can get somewhat loud on weekends.Coffee is good, specialty coffees even better. Ordered an old fashion Einspänner, the sweet and salted whipped cream was excellent.Service was standard, could be better given the high price point. Personally, find their food prices on the high side but coffee were fine. Will recommend to try.
Great coffee. Simple and cossy environment. Relaxing atmosphere. This cafe has been so popular since open. Unfortunately today my first visit not ordering any foods, but just drink itself does impress me a little...First, take note of what they indicated in their digital menu, almost all their caffeine drink are double shots expresso, so if you don't want to have such heavy shot caffeine effects after drink, remember to remind them after online order. But for me, I do loved double shots espresso for my coffee. Usually in many cafe especially those chain brands, they only provide single shot esprosso for their coffee, unless you want to top-up with additional charges. And the coffee taste usually is not bitter and much sweeter even without adding extra sugar.Back to the taste, I do loved why they insisted double shots, due to their pure Meiji Japanese milk able to absorb the strong double shots esprosso and give a quite rounded coffee taste. Even I ordered skinny milk not full cream milk due to calories. I believe with original full cream milk, it will be much flavourful. But my friend who are not regular coffee drinker. He doesn't like double shots, he find it too heavy. So it still individuals.Anyway, with similar price range, you are able to have more powerful coffee taste, that might be the plus point for my next visit. Recommended.💥 Welcome to my food sharing Instagram: jkgourmets. 欢迎游览我的美食IG: jkgourmets
My food was served but they seemed to have forgotten my partner's dish. Mine came in 15 minutes & my partner's almost 30 minutes after that.Might have been longer if I hadn't asked to check on it as her food was served about 10 minutes after I asked. Would have been nice if this had been acknowledged instead of brushed off...
Full house on a weekend afternoon. Best to reserve in advance. Prices are quite steep. Took away iced matcha latte ($8.10) instead - it tasted quite milky, matcha taste was lacking. Not sure if it’s worth the price tag.Went back again and dined in - we reserved a table in advance. Sourdough was hard, would skip that next time. Their pastas were better. Mid wings were alright. Red velvet cake was dense and moist! Could be slightly less sweet. Nice of them to add a candle for a birthday celebration!
Made a reservation on a weekend earlier that week for two. We got a seat at the backend of the cafe, which has a glass ceiling. Initially we thought it was outdoors = no aircon, but there was aircon and also ceiling fan so it was quite cooling and w/o the hustle and bustle in the “indoors” seating area.Would like to suggest for the owner to consider putting cushions on their chairs because the grills were not v comfortable hahaha (see photo of chair attached) 😅Matcha Latte (SGD9.20 after adding SGD1.10 to change to Soy Milk) - It was mid.My friend had Peppermint Mocha and also thought it was nothing impressive.Cereal Prawn Pasta (SGD22.60)Generous amount of cereal and prawns piled onto pasta cooked al-dente. It was aglio-olio style and I love the strong taste of garlic w a slight kick from the chilli padi. Occasionally you get a taste of the cereal but it was not too overpowering.Breakfast Burger w Tater Tots (SGD21)The tater tots were good, not soggy and I think they added some spice to it? The brioche bun was pillowy. I think it’s generally a decent burger but we didn’t enjoy the sweetness from the caramelised onions haha. Team savoury! Lucky we had shared.Bill came up to SGD62 (no service charge)! We decided we will come back again to try other items on the menu. No choice because limited stomach space haha.Would also like to commend on the service of the staff here 👍🏻
We had the grilled cheese which was a mix of gruyere and mozzarella cheese on chewy sourdough with bacon jam. The jam gave a really nice tangy hit to the generous cheese filling. The honey tater tots were just slightly sweet and freshly fried, accompanied with a sour cream sauce. The coffee was fantastic, not over-roasted or burnt-tasting. We also had the spicy chorizo as a side which was fantastic, not too spicy or oily and with a crispy casing. You can also bring your dogs along. Only minor thing is that the main door is very squeaky and needs to be oiled because it screeches every time the door is opened. Overall the food was great and service was quick and efficient.
Great brunch spot in Serangoon. The coffee was lovely, and the big breakfast was enough for 2 of us. The sausages were really tasty. They had some nice looking baked goods that I can’t wait to go back and try.
𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗵𝗮 ($25.90) 🥩🍳🧀This was a massive meat monster with mad visuals and we knew we had to get it. A chicken sausage patty, spam slice, and steak were sandwiched between toasted focaccia and topped with a gooey emmental cheese and a fried egg, sitting in a pool of orange sauce. While this was visually stunning, the taste fell short once you look at the individual components. The sausage patty and spam tasted were underwhelming while the steak was thin, well-done and carried only a mild beefy flavour. We also couldn’t make out what the sauce was supposed to taste like, but yet it was necessary as it would be too dry without it. This was filling but pricey and we probably wouldn’t get this again.𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗮 ($22.20) 🍝🧀The sample picture for this showed a bowl of creamy carbonara with a runny egg yolk in the center, covered by an tempting layer of shaved parm and it looked TOO GOOD not to order! Luckily we got this to share, because their sauce is made with cream and got surfeiting real fast. While it was delicious and they were generous with the bacon and shimeji, it would be difficult to finish this on your own. Not bad though!𝗪𝗮𝗴𝘆𝘂 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗳 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘄 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 ($22.70) 🍔🍟Our friend had this and enjoyed this burger greatly, we stole some fries (which everyone agreed tasted exactly like macs curly fries) which were crispy and seasoned. The burger bun was fluffy and toasted and the patty was juicy. A classic burger that can’t go wrong.𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗮 𝗽𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗬𝗼𝗴𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁 🍮🍯🍨Can’t remember how much this was but our friend that had it said it was “so gooooood” & they seemed really generous with the toppings (esp the glistening nut butter)Do make a reservation beforehand as Apollo gets extremely crowded on weekends. Food wise, it was typical cafe food and we weren’t super blown away. The servings were generous but we did find it kinda pricey :/Follow us on IG @toofoodtomiss for more foodie content!
